This just in! In collaboration with our Palm Beach Design Manager Kyle Johnson, I begin work on the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach this weekend.
Show houses are nothing new to us. They are a great opportunity to work with designers from all areas and with very different styles to create a set of beautiful spaces. In past years, I’ve worked with Tony Manning on the Hamptons Designer Show House as well as Iris Danker on the Evelyn Lauder Holiday House in the Woolworth Mansion on Fifth Avenue. Kyle and I look forward to the unique set of challenges and opportunities this year’s Show House will bring.
This year, Kyle and I are thrilled to have been assigned the Grand Staircase and hallways in the home. Fun fact: in the past five Kips Bay Show Houses the grand staircase has been named as the “wow factor.” Though these are some big shoes to fill, we are more than up for the challenge and have some fabulous surprises in the works.
This is the second time Kips Bay has done a house in Palm Beach. Not only does this opportunity allow us to work alongside a host of other wonderful designers from different parts of the country, but also to give back to the community of Palm Beach.
All proceeds from the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.
The home is a 10,000 square foot estate currently inhabited by local Palm Beach Floridians. They will be moved from their home for six months while we recreate each space inside their house. At the end of the process, every designer is responsible for putting the home back as they found it. It’s an incredible process and one for which I can’t wait to dive in. There are a number of sponsors involved with the project and we look forward to working with them.
Watch our social media channels as well as @kbshowhouse on Instagram to follow the process. The big reveal will be January 25th!
