The Lee W. Robinson Company

Christmas has passed, but New Year’s is on the way!

With the gift-giving holidays behind us, it’s time to move on and celebrate 2014 as we usher in a new year. I love New Year’s Eve, whether we are hosting or not. I love the magic of it all… starting over with a clean slate and looking forward to all the opportunities possible in the coming year. For The Lee W. Robinson Company, 2014 was a great year with several home projects complete and more in progress, as well as the launch of our DIY concept and brand-new website – complete with online shopping!

I do love the years we host New Year’s Eve at our home – creating a beautiful celebration with sparkle and shine. Some things that enhance the moment are listed below – we invite you to incorporate these ideas into your festivities!

– Champagne. No matter which champagne we serve, I like to pour it into champagne bowls rather than flutes. We use flutes throughout the year, and bowls help to set the night apart.

– Serve lobster. It’s not something most people serve on a regular night and it helps to set the mood of the night different. Of course, make sure to check that none of your guests have a shellfish aversion or allergy.

– Hire a Fortune Teller. It may sound crazy, but having a fortune teller there really lightens the mood and gets the group involved.

– Colors: Though Christmas brings in all the colors of the season, I keep New Year’s simple with a touch of glitz. White, silver and gold are enough to give your home a classic look for the night.

– On the table: Of course, I love the festive hats, blowers and poppers available at your nearby grocery store. They just make the mood fun.

The most important part of New Year’s Eve is to surround yourself with good friends, and to make sure you and your guests are having fun. New Year’s Day in our house is all about relaxing. We tend to make a big pot of chili and relax as a family, with games and parades on as the day goes on.

From our family to yours, I wish you a very Happy New Year and hope 2015 is everything you are hoping for!

Best…Lee
